Fragmented Zones

“Fragment after fragment we make sense of everything.

Fragment after fragment we travel our existence.

Fragment after fragment we evolve”

― Talismanist Giebra, Fragments of the Ancient Fire

The ongoing Series Fragmented Zones is a metaphor to represent the complex interplay of the inner self with the external environment. These two Zones are different and separate from one another yet interconnected. There is an ongoing dialogue between the two. When the dialogue gets disrupted, the Zones fragment, and the psychological implications can be distressing.

This Untitled image from the Series Fragmented Zones was shown in We Grow into the Forest Exhibition at the Art Pavilion, London, 14-24 March 2019. An Interdisciplinary Group Art Exhibition of 72 UK and International artists inspired by the theme of human-nature relationship. The Exhibition was curated and organised by ART from HEART in partnership with Art Catcher Ltd. and supported by Tower Hamlets Borough.

The image was also shortlisted in the Renaissance Photography Prize 2012, Category Disorientation, and Exhibited at the Mall Galleries, London, 11-16 June 2012. It was one of 100 images selected from 5,200 entries from photographers from 67 countries by Judges Monica Allende, Picture Editor of the Sunday Times Magazine; Michael Hoppen, Founder & Director of Michael Hoppen Gallery; Brigitte Lardinois, curator and Deputy Director of the Photography & the Archive Research Centre; Mary McCartney, professional portrait and fashion Photographer; and Brett Rogers, Director of The Photographers’ Gallery.
